We invite you to join the Rx in Reach Ga Coalition and concerned citizen advocates to our Step Therapy Capitol Day. We will gather to show our unity and encourage our legislators to support Step Therapy legislation, HB519. We have invited Rep. Sharon Cooper to speak and we have invited our other bill supporters and interested policymakers to join us. Please invite your organization members, patient advocates and personal legislators to attend. We will hear from patients who have experienced the medical risks of Step Therapy protocols.
Step Therapy Bill HB 519 Update
The Rx in Reach Ga Coalition along with the Medical Association of Ga (MAG) and 19 other health centered groups, worked hard last legislative session with our sponsor, Rep. Sharon Cooper to craft Step Therapy legislation. Rep. Cooper, along with Rep. Broadrick, Rep. Houston, Rep. Hatchett and Rep. Taylor, will carry this bill in the coming legislative session. We have asked the word “exception” be applied instead of the words ‘override’ or ‘request’. HB 519 is currently in the insurance committee, with Chairman Rep. Richard Smith. New revisions are being made to move this legislation forward in this short session. We will also proceed to garner Senate support.
Thank you for your continued support and resolve to help pass Step Therapy legislation.
