CDC recommends healthcare personnel and resigents of long-term care facilities recieve the COVID-19 first to best protect the health of the country
On December 3, 2020, CDC electronically published an early release copy of their Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR) entitled The Advisory Committee on Immunication Practices' Interim Recommendation for Allocating Initial Supplies of COVID-19 Vaccine - United States, 2020.
This publication, avaiable online at https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/69/wr/mm6949e1.htm?s_cid=mm6949e1_w, serves to help public health professionals prepare for their COVID-19 vaccination program for their appropriate region to be sure these two priority populations efficiently recieve the COVID-19 vaccine in the initial phase of the program. Formal guidance on other priority populations to recieve the vaccine will be provided once there is a FDA-approved vaccine available.
